Porch Group is seeking a versatile Accountant to join its finance and accounting function in a remote capacity. This role supports general accounting activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting, while working with internal teams across the organization as well as US-based business units. The Accountant will reconcile balances for assigned balance sheet accounts, prepare journal entries within established deadlines, and assist with monthly and quarterly closes. Additional duties include preparing flux comments related to the income statement and balance sheet, developing proficiency in the general ledger system and reporting tools, and supporting SOX/compliance activities with internal audit. The role will involve collaboration with revenue accounting, our insurance division, and shared services (corporate). Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting with at least 3 years of relevant experience; proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to work in a dynamic, virtual environment; NetSuite and FloQast experience is a plus; knowledge of fixed assets, cash, accruals, lease accounting, payroll and accounts payable, intercompany accounting, prepaids, capitalized software, and debt; proven experience working with US-based business teams; and excellent written and verbal English communication.
