Vinted is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Cozy team within Trust & Safety. You will help build and evolve Vinted’s Moderation Platform, a high-throughput system that governs how reported items move through states and how information is presented to moderators in real time. Based in Kaunas, Lithuania, this hybrid role combines hands-on backend work with mentorship and collaboration across Web, QA, and EPDA teams.
In this role you will restructure core moderation flows using live, snapshotted, and projected data; clean up legacy areas; prepare modular components for future microservice expansion; and build and adapt experimentation systems to run advanced product and system tests. You will implement robust logging and monitoring to keep high-volume flows observable and debuggable, and you will balance strict technical requirements such as latency, memory, and speed with domain needs such as explainability and extensibility.
You will own your services: monitor and improve backend performance, participate in on-call rotations during working hours (with potential expansion to 24/7 depending on operations), and use a mix of technologies including Ruby on Rails, Vitess, Redis, Kafka, and MySQL. Our team works as a cross-functional product unit with Web frontend engineers, four Backend engineers, a Software Engineer in Test, and an EPDA group (Product Manager, Product Designer, Decision Scientist, Engineering Manager).
