Great Plains Manufacturing is seeking a dynamic Staff Accountant to join our team. This on-site role is based at our corporate office in Salina, Kansas. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with additional hours occasionally required during peak tax times. Primary duties include compiling and analyzing financial information for journal entries, performing month-end close tasks, reconciling general ledger accounts, maintaining standard monthly reports, and supporting tax groups and audits. The role also involves researching appropriate accounting treatments for new transactions, assisting the CFO and Corporate Controller with ad hoc analyses, collaborating with the accounting team on international subsidiaries, and handling data requests from government census and industry groups. Additional responsibilities include preparing sales and use tax reports and ensuring GAAP compliance with company policies. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 1–3 years of relevant experience, be proficient in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint), and demonstrate strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication.
