Medtronic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Data Services (Patient Care Systems) in Galway, Ireland. This hybrid role focuses on building and operating data platforms that support patient care systems and the digital heartbeat behind life-saving cardiac therapies.

Responsibilities include: - Complete assigned tasks within established deadlines - Design and deploy CI/CD pipelines - Design proactive monitoring and alerting - Troubleshoot and resolve production issues - Mentor assigned junior engineers

Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field - Minimum 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 2 years of experience - Data architecture experience (JSON/Avro) and ERD-based solutions - Experience with CI/CD tools, preferably GitHub Actions - Experience with IaC tooling, ideally Terraform - Experience with AWS and AWS native tools including Glue, Athena, Lake Formation, Lambda - Python (PySpark a big plus) - Experience with open source tools such as Apache Spark and Iceberg - AWS certifications a plus - Experience working in agile teams using principles such as Scrum and Kanban - Demonstrated experience automating routine tasks - On-call support experience
