Senior Software Engineer on the Core Platform team at Minka, building the real-time payment ledger that underpins transfers between banks, wallets, and payment schemes. You’ll work on the components through which transfers are accepted, validated, recorded and confirmed, and you’ll ensure balances remain correct under high concurrency while the system scales. The work is done in TypeScript on Node.js with PostgreSQL and Kafka, running on Kubernetes. You will take work from the team backlog, design with the team, implement with tests, have your changes reviewed, and own them in production. When issues arise, you’ll diagnose, fix, and document what happened. You’ll optimize performance by profiling hot paths, designing schemas, indexes, and queries to increase throughput, managing cache invalidation to prevent stale balances, and designing event flows so every message is processed exactly once with self-healing behavior after broker or consumer failures. Later you’ll lead cross-team design discussions on partitioning, capacity planning, failover behavior, and platform guarantees for integrations built on top of the ledger. You’ll mentor other engineers through code reviews and pairing. Success is measured by four metrics: sustained transactions per second in load tests, 99th percentile latency under load, zero production incidents caused by your changes, and rapid recovery after database or broker failures in test environments. Requirements include seven or more years building backend services in production, strong TypeScript and Node.js skills (or another backend language wi
