The role focuses on applying data science and machine learning to build scalable, value-adding solutions for customers, advertisers, and the business, including improving customer experience and driving revenue for our webshop. This hybrid role combines on-site work in Cologne with flexible remote work arrangements. You will work on end-to-end data science projects, collaborating with Product Managers, Engineers, and domain experts to translate business challenges into data-driven solutions. You will own projects through the full lifecycle—from problem definition and experimentation to production deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement using real-world datasets. You will design and evaluate ML models and evolve retail media measurement approaches, including attribution, ROAS, incrementality testing, causal inference, uplift modelling, and experiment design. The tech stack includes Databricks, Spark, Azure, Python, SQL, MLOps, experimentation and analytics frameworks, Git, and CI/CD. Qualifications include a solid foundation in applied data science and machine learning, production model deployment, strong Python and SQL skills, statistical modelling and large-scale data processing, and hands-on experience with marketing or advertising measurement (attribution, ROAS, causal inference, incrementality testing, uplift modelling, experimental design).
