Senior Backend Engineer

We’re seeking an experienced backend engineer who is eager to learn and tackle challenging problems. You will join a world-class team of engineers responsible for deploying, operating, and building new systems for our unique problem space. You will design, develop, and operate services and frameworks that power Asana's platform.

This role is based in our Reykjavik office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. In-office days are typically Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most team members can work from home on Wednesdays, and Friday arrangements depend on the work and teams involved. What you’ll achieve - Design, build, and iterate on frameworks that influence all aspects of the Asana product. - Partner with other frameworks and product engineering teams to enable faster development and help the company reach its goals. - Analyze complex systems to identify issues, root causes, and areas for improvement. - Champion code quality and best practices, establishing standards via examples and frameworks. - Develop new APIs that balance usability with the capability to support Asana’s feature-rich web application. - Write clean, high-quality code and leave systems in a better state than you found them. - Grow through opportunities to stretch and learn, enhancing your development. - Collaborate with a world-class engineering team to build new functionality through intuitive building blocks.
