Anaplan is seeking an Associate Backend Software Engineer (Python) in Manchester, United Kingdom to join the Predictive Intelligence engineering team. You will build and maintain backend services and data processing components that power the Syrup platform and Anaplan’s forecasting and predictive solutions. You will write clean, well-tested Python, contribute to APIs and data pipelines, and collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and platform partners. You will participate in code reviews, design discussions, and on-call rotations as you grow as an engineer.

Responsibilities

Qualifications:

Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and data processing components across the Predictive Intelligence stack.
Contribute to forecasting, scoring, and data processing services delivering predictive insights with emphasis on performance, reliability, and code quality.
Write clean, well-tested Python and follow engineering best practices.
Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to integrate models into production services and support pipelines.
Participate in code reviews and design discussions, and incorporate feedback.
Participate in on-call rotations and help monitor, diagnose, and resolve issues.
Work with the team to deliver features end to end.
Commercial software engineering experience building backend services.
Strong Python proficiency; experience writing production-grade code.
Experience with relational databases and SQL (Postgres); knowledge of data warehousing (Snowflake) is a plus.
