This on-site role is based in Hoofddorp, Netherlands, and provides professional support to ensure compliance with local VAT regulations and EU directives, while facilitating cross-border transactions and driving standardization and automation of VAT processes across the region. The Senior Accountant will serve as the primary interface between Finance, Tax, and business teams, contributing to accurate statutory reporting and minimizing VAT risk exposure. Key responsibilities include: VAT compliance and filing across EMEA, ESL/Intrastat and other VAT reporting; VAT accounting and reconciliation; advisory on cross-border transactions; audits and interaction with tax authorities; process improvement and internal controls; stakeholder management across local finance teams and other functions. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field; 5–8+ years of VAT/indirect tax within multinational environments; strong knowledge of EU VAT directives and local country rules; experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred); solid IFRS/local GAAP understanding; experience with VAT automation tools; strong analytical and communication skills; ability to manage multiple jurisdictions and deadlines; track record of timely VAT filings and clean VAT GL accounts; successful audits.
