Spirit Defense, a business unit of Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., is seeking an Operations Engineering Manager to lead Continuous Improvement (CI) Specialists and a manufacturing engineering team in Wichita, Kansas. This on-site role focuses on manufacturing process optimization, lean initiatives, quality and safety improvements, and the development of build plans. You will conduct root-cause analyses, own the manufacturing process, enforce policies and procedures, and communicate across all levels of the organization to align goals. You will lead a team including CI Specialists and union-represented employees, managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and ensuring direct reports meet critical schedules. The position requires strong analytical and leadership skills, experience with production metrics and blueprints, and familiarity with SAP or other large-scale MRP systems. Preferred qualifications include manufacturing or engineering degrees, experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints, and knowledge of S&OP concepts. This role requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance and is based in Wichita, Kansas, United States, on-site.
