TekSynap is seeking a Junior Accountant I to join our Accounting team in Reston, Virginia. This role supports the day-to-day Time and Labor administration and payroll processing, ensuring adherence to internal policies and applicable laws and regulations. The position reports to the Payroll Administrator and collaborates with cross-functional teams including Recruiting, HR, Contracts, and Subcontracts.

Key responsibilities include leading Time and Labor and payroll processing; assisting with escalated time/labor issues; coordinating with Recruiting, HR, Contracts, Subcontracts as needed; managing automated feeds between ADP and Unanet for accurate labor setup; setting up time for subcontractors; processing semi-monthly timesheets; handling prior-period labor corrections; preparing labor reconciliations; coordinating monthly close; generating weekly/monthly reports; analyzing Time and Labor processes to identify issues and drive improvements; developing training content; training stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate timekeeping and payroll while adhering to internal policies and external regulations; partnering with Unanet technical support to resolve issues and documenting findings and recommendations; ensuring compliance with internal policies and government regulations.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience); approximately 1–3 years of Payroll/Time Administration or related accounting/finance experience; high proficiency in MS Excel.
