The role is based approximately 30 minutes east of Providence, Rhode Island, in Massachusetts, and offers a hybrid work environment. Founded in 2013, Viridian Staffing is the original recruiting and HR consulting firm serving organizations in cannabis/hemp industries. As Controller, you will partner directly with executive leadership and own the accounting function, balancing strategic oversight with hands-on execution. You will lead the monthly close, maintain the general ledger, and oversee financial reporting, while also driving cash flow forecasting, treasury management, and operational accounting. You will collaborate with operations and inventory teams to support retail and inventory-related accounting, ensure accurate tracking across systems, and drive internal process improvements. The role requires experience with QuickBooks, ERP systems, and advanced Excel, and a background in a retail cannabis or similarly regulated environment. This position is suitable for someone currently in an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or Controller role seeking broader leadership responsibilities in a growing organization.
