REI Systems is seeking an Associate Software Engineer - Java to join our team. Responsibilities include developing, testing, debugging, and maintaining Java-based applications under the guidance of senior engineers; contributing to technical design discussions and translating business requirements into software solutions; building functionality with Java, Spring/Spring Boot, REST APIs, and SQL; writing clean, maintainable code following established standards; participating in unit and integration testing, troubleshooting, and defect resolution; developing and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating systems; working with relational databases and SQL; supporting the full software development lifecycle from development to production support; collaborating with software engineers, business analysts, QA, DevOps, and other team members; participating in Agile ceremonies; applying secure coding, cloud, CI/CD, and DevSecOps practices; and assisting with maintenance and production issues. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience; 0–2 years of software development experience; foundational experience with Java or another object-oriented language; understanding of object-oriented programming concepts, data structures, and software development principles; exposure to Spring, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, or web application development; familiarity with relational databases and SQL; basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript; familiarity with Git or other source control
