Office of the Comptroller (CTR) in Massachusetts is seeking a full-time Accountant V in the General Ledger Unit for Ledger Reporting and Analysis. This hybrid position leads the development and implementation of financial reporting and analytical tools, including designing reporting templates, creating data queries, performing complex analyses, and establishing standardized reporting processes to support executive decision-making and improve accounting operations. The role will initially focus on developing reporting templates, data queries, and standardized processes, then transition to an ongoing balance of financial reporting, data analysis, process improvement, and general ledger accounting responsibilities. Key duties include assisting Senior Leadership with reports, creating queries in Access to extract data, compiling data from multiple sources, conducting year-over-year and period-over-period analyses, designing quarterly reporting packages, maintaining databases (Access), automating report generation, identifying process improvements, analyzing ledger data (including Balance Sheet) and collaborating with Ledger team accountants and management to address issues; performing ad hoc analyses, and preparing monthly and annual reconciliations and entries.
