About the role

Cognite is seeking a People Operations Manager to serve as the operational backbone of the US/AMER People function. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented individual contributor role at the heart of the employee experience, acting as the go-to partner for payroll coordination, onboarding and offboarding, HRIS data management, benefits administration, and frontline employee support. You will collaborate with the VP of People Operations & Rewards and partner with the Senior Director of HR on US compliance to keep operations accurate, compliant, and audit-ready.

Cognite is seeking a People Operations Manager to serve as the operational backbone of the US/AMER People function. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented individual contributor role at the heart of the employee experience, acting as the go-to partner for payroll coordination, onboarding and offboarding, HRIS data management, benefits administration, and frontline employee support. You will collaborate with the VP of People Operations & Rewards and partner with the Senior Director of HR on US compliance to keep operations accurate, compliant, and audit-ready.

Responsibilities

Payroll Coordination and Operational Excellence: manage Cognite’s outsourced ADP payroll provider, ensure timely transmission of inputs, run audits, resolve discrepancies, and act as liaison between People and payroll.
Employee Lifecycle Management: oversee onboarding and offboarding for US/AMER employees and HRIS lifecycle events (new hires, changes, leaves, promotions, transfers, terminations).
Benefits Administration and Vendor Coordination: administer US benefits programs (health, dental, vision, 401(k), leave), coordinate plan renewals and open enrollment, and liaise with brokers/providers.
HR Operations and First-Line Employee Support: be the primary contact for HR operational queries, triage and route requests via Jira, and support compliance processes in partnership with senior HR leadership.
HRIS Data Integrity and Reporting: maintain accurate employee records, identify data discrepancies, and support HRIS updates and reporting.
