The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is a large municipal utility serving New Yorkers with drinking water, wastewater and environmental safety programs. The Bureau of Water Supply seeks an Administrative Manager to serve as the Medical Surveillance Program Manager within the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Division of the Core Services Directorate, based in Valhalla, New York, with a possible alternate reporting location in Kingston, New York. Under general supervision, the Medical Surveillance Program Manager will plan, coordinate and manage the Medical Surveillance Program and related contracts, including the Respiratory Protection Program (RPP) and Hearing Conservation Program (HCP), and will monitor compliance and safety practices. Key duties include tracking information to maintain regulatory compliance, supporting safe work practices, and executing special assignments as needed. This role may require shifts including nights, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Travel is expected to meetings, facilities and field locations across the 2,000 square mile upstate watershed and to New York City. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree with four years of progressively responsible administrative/managerial experience (including supervisory responsibilities), or an equivalent combination as described in the posted job requirements. A valid New York driver license and the ability to travel are preferred, along with knowledge of NYSDEC/NYSDOL and USEPA environmental regulations and OSHA health and safety laws.
