Toyota Material Handling North America (TMHNA) is seeking an Automation Software Engineer to develop the next generation of intelligent automation, robotics, and computer vision technologies for material handling equipment. You will design, develop, and implement software solutions powering autonomous systems, robotics, computer vision, and advanced operator assistance technologies. You will work with embedded systems, sensors, and intelligent vehicle platforms to deliver scalable, high-performance software.
What You’ll Be Doing: - Design, develop, and integrate high-performance software components using C++ for real-time data processing and logging. - Develop software using ROS2, DDS, and related technologies for robotics and autonomous systems. - Build software architectures, component functionality, and system integrations for complex automation projects. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including software, embedded, robotics, ML, electrical, and mechanical engineers. - Lead technical development of assigned software components, identifying risks and supporting project objectives. - Develop and implement algorithms for operator assistance, robotics, computer vision, and safety-critical automation. - Integrate software with cameras, LiDAR, sensors, embedded controllers, and robotic hardware platforms. - Create and maintain technical documentation: designs, system architecture, validation plans, test procedures, and recommendations. - Develop hardware and software validation plans, analyze result
