Senior Software Engineer role based in Hoboken, New Jersey, United States with a hybrid work arrangement. The engineer will lead and contribute as an individual contributor within a software development team, designing and implementing software solutions for complex business and engineering problems. What You'll Own: - Collaborate with product and technology teams to innovate and evolve Pearson's learning platform. - Partner with architects and peer team leads to leverage existing capabilities and APIs. - Lead cross-functional design and implementation of new software and maintain/enhance existing software. - Thrive in high-pressure environments and help maintain a 24/7 production environment. - Stay curious, adopt new frameworks and technologies where appropriate. - Drive design and implementation decisions using best practices and patterns.
About You (Required Experience/Skills): - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (Master's preferred). - 5+ years as a Software Engineer/Developer. - 5+ years as a full-stack developer (front-end UI to back-end data store). - 5+ years with backend scripting languages. - 5+ years with technical documentation. - 5+ years turning POCs into production code. - 5+ years in Agile/Scrum. - 5+ years in Java, Spring Boot, Serverless Architecture, Microservice Architecture, Unit Testing/Test Coverage, CI/Build Aut
