Overview: Methods Machine Tools, established in 1958, is a leading privately owned machine tool importer in North America. The Senior Accountant will support a broad range of financial processes including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and audit support. This senior professional collaborates with the General Accounting and Finance teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely financial operations.

Responsibilities

Own key components of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations; resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
Analyze account activity, research variances, and prepare schedules for management review to support financial reporting.
Maintain accurate accounting documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and applicable accounting standards.
Partner with cross-functional teams to gather, validate, and process accounting information.
Support internal, external, bank, and compliance audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and financial data.
Oversee job, project, tariff, and inventory-related accounting within the ERP system, including tracking and financial analysis.
Monitor and reconcile foreign currency transactions, including exchange rate impacts and revaluations.
Support sales tax compliance by preparing, reviewing, and reconciling sales tax filings and related activity.
