Apple Services Engineering (ASE) is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join the iCloud team on-site in Cupertino, California, United States. The candidate will apply SRE best practices to ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of systems and services that power customer-facing experiences. You will work with software engineers and partner teams to design, build, monitor, and operate highly available services, triage incidents, and drive automation improvements. Responsibilities include building and scaling distributed systems across public, private, or hybrid cloud environments, implementing robust monitoring and alerting, managing incident response, and improving fault analysis and incident readiness. Qualifications: 5+ years in Infrastructure Operations, Site Reliability Engineering, or DevOps; BS degree in computer science or equivalent with 5+ years of experience; strong Linux knowledge, networking fundamentals, and systems management; fluency in at least one of Java, Python, or Go; experience in building and scaling distributed systems in cloud environments; familiarity with microservices architecture and Kubernetes; understanding of security principles including encryption, keys, and exchange protocols; knowledge of SRE concepts such as monitoring, SLOs/SLIs, error budgets, and automation; strong ownership and collaboration skills to work with engineers and cross-functional partners. Preferred qualifications include automation scripting (Python) and experience building partnerships.
