Senior Proposals Writer & Project Manager – Paris, France (On-site). The role sits within Sotheby’s Proposals department, part of the Global Marketing division, and focuses on developing bespoke proposal documents, invitations to consign, and other pitch materials to secure important sales and partnerships. The Senior Proposals Writer will manage projects from start to finish with a high degree of autonomy: attending briefs with internal clients, writing the majority of copy, editing contributions, coordinating with an assigned Designer, and guiding sign-off processes. The role also acts as an editor for junior team members, providing coaching and feedback. Responsibilities include planning, writing, and producing persuasive proposals to tight deadlines; collaborating with marketing, creative, and press teams; updating templates and resources; researching clients to tailor content; coordinating information from multiple departments; maintaining knowledge of business goals and market context; advising colleagues on proposals and pitches; proofreading other documents; supporting urgent projects as needed; and coordinating translations when required. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree (preferred) and at least 5 years of professional writing experience, with an interest in history, the arts, and luxury industries. Native English and French language proficiency is essential; other languages are a plus. Proficiency in InDesign and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) is expected.
