Verkada is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for the Growth Engineering team. You will build production backend systems and apply AI-powered capabilities to directly impact pipeline, revenue, and the effectiveness of our go-to-market teams. A growing focus is applying AI to real business problems—turning model capabilities into reliable products that support Sales and Marketing, including agent workflows, enterprise integrations, evaluation systems, and backend infrastructure. This role reports to the Engineering Manager and is based on-site at our headquarters in San Mateo, California, United States, five days a week. You will design and operate APIs, services, workflows, and data pipelines that power lead management, attribution, automation, and other growth systems. You will own projects from prototype through production, balancing speed with reliability, security, observability, and maintainability. You will help shape the team’s technical direction and establish reusable patterns across applied AI and growth engineering.
