Speechify is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Core Experiences Team in Rome, Italy. This role focuses on building and maintaining foundational services and SDKs that power Speechify’s product experience across platforms, balancing product needs with infrastructure design to deliver reliable APIs and simple systems. What you’ll do: Collaborate with Product Teams to scope projects, streamline requirements for faster customer feedback, navigate integration and UX tradeoffs across teams, and deliver solutions via a cross-platform SDK. You will optimize functionality for faster loading and smarter parsing by designing efficient abstractions and refining algorithms; ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin. Ideal candidates have systems thinking, speed, focus, and strong collaboration skills to work with designers, marketers, and PMs in a fast-moving, distributed environment. Preferred tech stack includes Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience is a plus) and prior experience with Google Cloud Platform is a plus.
