Experian Credit Services & Verifications is seeking a Lead Data Platform Engineer to join the Ascend Cloud Foundation Platform team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Based in Nottingham with a hybrid work arrangement (approximately 40% in the office), you will lead an Agile technical team, build data pipelines and data lake infrastructure, and deliver high-quality software. You will collaborate with risk, security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (including GDPR and PCI DSS) and industry standards related to data privacy and security. You will identify overlapping technical requirements across teams and help shape technology roadmaps. You will own the codebase and technical applications, drive technical ownership, and ensure solutions are scalable and maintainable by applying SOLID principles and established coding standards. You will participate in the full development lifecycle and use tools such as Bitbucket and Jira. Required qualifications include strong experience with DevOps and Infrastructure as Code tooling (Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, Harness); expertise in Apache Spark/Hadoop; extensive experience with AWS cloud services (including AWS Glue, S3, and Step Functions); building data pipelines and data lakes; programming experience in Scala or Python; and familiarity with automated testing methodologies and API integration. Additional knowledge of Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, Lake Formation, and the ability to analyze large data sets is advantageous.
