About the role

JetBrains is seeking a Senior Product Manager to define the future of its VCS ecosystem and shape how teams work with version control, code reviews, and AI-assisted workflows. You will own the long-term strategy for VCS across JetBrains IDEs, determine where JetBrains should play in the space, and explore opportunities beyond current tools—from cross-IDE VCS clients and host-neutral code reviews to AI-native review and authorship tracking. You’ll collaborate with engineering and quality leads, as well as product marketing, developer advocacy, and the IntelliJ Platform teams to navigate the next era of software delivery, including tracking provenance and reviewing AI-generated changes across environments.

You’ll collaborate with engineering and quality leads, as well as product marketing, developer advocacy, and the IntelliJ Platform teams to navigate the next era of software delivery, including tracking provenance and reviewing AI-generated changes across environments.

Day to day, you will: - Set the long-term product strategy for VCS and code-change workflows across all JetBrains IDEs. - Identify gaps in current developer workflows and define new product directions in the VCS space. - Explore opportunities such as cross-IDE VCS clients, host-neutral code reviews, and AI-native review and authorship tracking. - Listen to what the community and industry are saying to figure out exactly what we should work on. - Align roadmap decisions across product, engineering, design, marketing, developer advocacy, partnership, and customer-facing teams. - Work with engineering and quality leads to balance user value, technical constraints, and platform health. - Shape external positioning and represent our VCS direction in conversations with customers and the broader developer tools community.
