About the role

Shrewsberry is seeking a Project Manager – Aviation Engineering to provide mid-level project management oversight on airport design projects. This role involves building strong working relationships with airport authorities, state agencies, counties, municipalities, and other consulting firms. The Project Manager must be knowledgeable of FAA criteria and design standards and be able to obtain professional engineer licensure in multiple states. Responsibilities include delivering projects on time and within budget, supporting business development, and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities also include technical duties such as serving as project lead on assigned tasks, defining scope, schedules, budgets, and man-hour requirements, identifying and mitigating project risks, performing CAD design and drafting, and using Civil 3D and AviPlan for modeling and analysis. The role requires preparing drainage designs and reports per FAA and local standards, supporting construction phases (RFIs, submittals, revisions), coordinating team efforts, managing scope and amendments, and producing construction documents, reports, and final bid packages. Additional duties include quality control reviews, site visits to monitor progress, regular client communication, and ensuring schedules and budgets are met.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and 6+ years of experience in airside and landside airport design, familiarity with FAA criteria, project management, and client relations. Proposal writing, scope development, and budget preparation experience are pref
