RentSpree is seeking a Staff Software Engineer with a full-stack/backend focus to help build core consumer and business-facing product experiences. You will own end-to-end feature development—from backend APIs to polished user interfaces—with emphasis on delivering fast, intuitive, and reliable experiences for millions of users. As a technical leader, you will set architectural direction, drive complex initiatives from concept to delivery, mentor engineers, and collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions. The role is hybrid and based in Seattle, Washington, with two in-office days per week. Key responsibilities include leading end-to-end development of user-facing features across web and backend systems; championing backend architecture, performance, and accessibility; translating customer needs into thoughtful, scalable solutions; driving technical decisions; contributing to engineering standards, architecture, and tooling; mentoring engineers and fostering technical excellence; balancing delivery speed with quality; and evolving backend infrastructure and testing strategies.
