About the role

Texas Sports Academy, a K-12 school focused on elite academics and high-level athletic development, is seeking a full-time Sports Content Writer for a remote role. You will own the words behind our brand, writing feature stories on athletes, coaches, and games; producing blogs and newsletters that reach the families we serve; and handling day-to-day copywriting for landing pages, ads, and social media. Texas Sports Academy, a K-12 school focused on elite academics and high-level athletic development, is seeking a full-time Sports Content Writer for a remote role. You will own the words behind our brand, writing feature stories on athletes, coaches, and games; producing blogs and newsletters that reach the families we serve; and handling day-to-day copywriting for landing pages, ads, and social media. The role requires the ability to move between long-form storytelling, content marketing, and short-form copy while preserving the brand voice.

Responsibilities

Qualifications:

Write feature stories on athletes, coaches, games, and milestones that give families and fans a real look inside the program.
Produce content marketing pieces: blog posts, newsletters, and SEO-driven articles about athlete development and life inside the program.
Copywriting across channels: landing pages, ad copy, email sequences, and social captions; adapt voice to platform and audience.
Interview athletes, coaches, and families; turn quotes into clean, on-brand copy.
Own the editorial calendar: plan and ship a steady cadence of content; coordinate with video and marketing teams.
Measure performance and iterate: track content success and sharpen future stories and campaigns.
Build a portfolio of published writing across features, content marketing, and copywriting; examples are encouraged.
Sports or athletic content experience: prior work covering youth sports, college athletics, or professional sports, or writing for a team, league, brand, or athlete audience.
