About the role

Rockstar Games is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Online Services team in Carlsbad, California. This full-time, in-office position offers the chance to work on large-scale, connected experiences across Rockstar's game franchises in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

Develop high-volume, highly scalable server-side features using Windows Server, SQL Server, IIS, .NET, and C#.
Create web services for console clients, browser clients, and external server clients.
Build highly reliable distributed server systems.
Optimize web performance.
Collaborate with other Rockstar technology teams across worldwide studios.

4+ years of experience building scalable distributed systems.
Expert in C# and/or C++.
Strong CS fundamentals, including OO design patterns.
Experience with API design and development.
Knowledge of web service scalability, performance, and security practices.
Database development experience (MSSQL).
Experience with source control, preferably Perforce.
Experience building online gaming systems, commerce systems, social networking systems, search systems.
One or more titles shipped on console or PC; preferably Xbox and/or PlayStation.
Familiarity with networking components (DNS, NAT, firewalls, security methods, peer-to-peer, client-server).
Experience with online game service APIs (Xbox Live, Sony NP, and Games for Windows Live).
Knowledge of Agile software development processes.
