• Make systems robust: ensure workload isolation, redundancy, meaningful auto-scaling, and appropriate cluster capacity to handle peak loads while not wasting resources; prevent outages.
• Identify known reliability risks: investigate, gather evidence, and present concrete options.
• Implement improvements: production code, Infrastructure as Code, automation, testing, runbooks, or technical safeguards.
• Maintain observability: manage alerting infrastructure, improve signals, alert ownership, and routing so real incidents reach the right people, while minimizing noise.
