Speechify is the easiest way to listen to the world's information. We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Core Experiences team. This team builds and maintains the foundational services and SDKs powering Speechify's product experience across platforms. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of product and infrastructure, thinks strategically, and is passionate about designing clear, reliable APIs and simple systems that directly enhance the user experience.

What You'll Do - Collaborate with Product teams to scope projects, simplify scope for faster customer feedback, navigate UX tradeoffs, and deliver cross-platform SDK solutions. - Optimize existing functionality to ship faster loading and smarter parsing by designing efficient abstractions and improving algorithms. - Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin.
Ideal Candidate - Systems thinking: you design end-to-end solutions with simplicity in mind. - Speed: you generate options quickly and decide what can ship now versus what needs more time. - Focus: you thrive in a high-growth, remote environment and know when to engage or focus. - Collaboration: you can inspire, negotiate with, and align with designers, marketers, and PMs.
Preferred Tech Stack - Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience is acceptable, but the role focuses on Kotlin Multiplatform) - Prior experience with Google Cloud Platform is a plus
