Senior Accountant at Family Centers is responsible for performing and overseeing key accounting functions, supporting the monthly and year-end close processes, and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the organization’s financial records. The role serves as the payroll subject matter expert, managing the semi-monthly payroll for approximately 260 employees using ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payments. Responsibilities include general ledger maintenance and journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, revenue and expenditure analysis, fixed asset activity, interfund reconciliations, and supporting annual audits. The candidate will establish and follow internal controls, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with Finance, Human Resources, and other departments. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, at least 5 years of accounting and payroll experience, knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting, and experience with ADP Workforce Now. Preference for nonprofit accounting experience. Compensation is $85,000 - $90,000 per year. This on-site role is based in Greenwich, Connecticut, United States, and is offered by Family Centers, a private nonprofit organization serving families in Fairfield County.
