Microsoft is seeking a Principal Software Engineering Manager in Redmond, Washington with a hybrid work arrangement. You will lead the engineering strategy and execution for a new class of identity protection systems that safeguard humans and AI agents at cloud scale, leveraging machine learning and GenAI. This role offers exceptional visibility and the opportunity to influence the future direction of Microsoft Security and to work with a team that combines ML expertise with engineering excellence.

Responsibilities

Qualifications: Required: Other requirements:

Collaborate with the data science team to train machine learning models for threat detection and a unified risk model.
Define requirements, KPIs, priorities, and plans for engineering deliverables.
Lead the design and implementation of client and service components for extremely high scale, throughput, durability, and low latency.
Mentor and grow a diverse, energetic engineering team.
Build AI agents to automatically detect system vulnerabilities and simulate real attacks.
Build data platforms and signal ingestion pipelines.
Design and integrate machine learning models in production to achieve real-time protection for users and agents.
Focus on customer and partner needs through a data-driven approach.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 5+ years of engineering experience with programming in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python (or equivalent).
3+ years’ experience as a people manager to lead an engineering team.
Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
