Overview: TMMG is seeking an experienced Marine Electrical Controls & Automation Engineer to support an expanding vessel new-construction program. This hands-on role involves the design, integration, installation, commissioning, and testing of shipboard electrical, automation, and machinery-control systems, working closely with engineering, production, software, test, commissioning, and equipment-vendor teams. Responsibilities include translating system requirements into functional PLC logic, developing and troubleshooting PLC programs (ladder logic, function blocks, interlocks, alarms, sequencing), and supporting Siemens SIMATIC PLCs and TIA Portal. The engineer will integrate PLCs, HMIs, remote I/O, instrumentation, sensors, actuators, VFDs, MCCs, motor controllers, and equipment controllers; perform I/O checkout, loop checks, startup, activation, and testing; troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, communications, PLC logic, HMI configurations, and machinery interfaces. Additional duties include reviewing schematics and vendor data, coordinating with electricians, controls/software engineers, system engineers, OEM representatives, and test personnel; developing commissioning and test procedures; supporting dockside and sea trials; documenting changes and results; and providing hands-on support during vessel construction to minimize impact on production and test schedules.
