Brussels-based GIS Web Developer is needed to build and extend web mapping applications using ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript and Python for a NATO-related program. The on-site role works with the geospatial team to deliver fast, accurate maps and services to decision-makers. Responsibilities include developing and configuring web GIS applications, integrating spatial data from classified and unclassified sources, and preparing data with Python and spatial ETL tools. You will set up map services, feature layers and tiled data optimized for web performance, tune backend queries and map rendering, and document code, service endpoints and architecture. Requirements include at least 5 years of web development experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue.js or Angular); hands-on experience with ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript (layers, popups, custom widgets, client-side spatial operations); Python for geoprocessing and automation (ArcPy, GeoPandas, Shapely, Rasterio, GDAL/OGR); experience with backend services or pipelines that expose geospatial functionality; Git, Agile; a bachelor's degree in computer science, geography, IT or related field; advanced English; some basic French helpful.
