Minelab is seeking a Field Test Engineer to join the Systems Engineering team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this role you will take Minelab detectors into real-world environments to test product performance, measure site conditions and understand how people use our technology. Working to plans set by Systems Engineering, you will collect reliable field data and present clear findings to inform product development. The role involves approximately four to six domestic or international field trips each year, typically lasting one to two weeks. Between trips you will undertake local product and systems testing, organise field records and deepen your knowledge of Minelab’s detectors for gold and coin and treasure detection. This is a practical, customer-facing opportunity for someone who enjoys technical testing, outdoor work and careful observation.
Key Responsibilities - Plan and conduct approved field tests safely, preparing detectors, measurement equipment and recording tools. - Operate existing, prototype and unreleased detectors in real-world conditions, recording settings, accessories, software and test conditions. - Measure and document soil mineralisation, ground balance information, salinity, EMI and other site conditions. - Capture GPS records, photographs, video and soil samples to support traceable field results. - Observe how people use Minelab and competitor detectors and collect feedback on performance, usability, setup and training needs. - Organise and validate field data, maintaining records that colleagues can search and understand. - Prepare clear trip
