Nectar Social is seeking an Event & Community Manager based in Palo Alto, California to own our West Coast events program from the ground up, spanning the Bay Area and Los Angeles. The role is anchored in the Bay Area with calendar time split between Palo Alto/San Francisco and Los Angeles, and requires travel to industry conferences. You will design and execute end-to-end events—customer dinners, executive roundtables, happy hours, creator meetups, and conference sponsorships—while partnering with sales and customer success to generate pipeline. You will also build and scale Nectar's community efforts (Slack/ambassador programs, customer councils), create ongoing content and engagement cadences, and turn event attendees into active community members. You will manage budgets, vendors, venues, and logistics, and report on ROI to continuously improve the calendar. You will represent Nectar at West Coast conferences and ensure on-site success. The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of experience in B2B event marketing or community management at a SaaS company and is comfortable operating autonomously in an early-stage environment. A willingness to travel 20–30% to San Francisco, Los Angeles, and industry events is required. Nice-to-have: existing network in Bay Area and LA communities, familiarity with community platforms and event tools, startup experience building a function from zero to one. Our offer includes competitive compensation and equity, health/dental/vision benefits, 401(k) match, wellness perks, a housing stipend, commuter benefits, and a hybrid Palo Alto office setup
