As Chief Technology Officer / VP Engineering for BeReal, you will lead BeReal’s engineering organization within Voodoo, overseeing about 12 squads and roughly 80 engineers across iOS, Android, and backend. Your mandate includes ensuring app stability at peak load, accelerating squads without regressions, controlling infrastructure costs, and maintaining a high talent bar. What you'll do: Own the stability of a system where millions of users post within the same two minutes every day; run 12 squads across three codebases: release discipline, feature flags, platform, developer experience; own infrastructure cost as a P&L line: GCP, Cloud Spanner, media delivery at scale; complete our Node.js to Go migration without slowing delivery; hire exceptional engineers, develop them, and uphold high standards; set technical strategy with the CEO and product leadership.
