About the role

Backend Software Engineer will report to the Software Development Manager for OvrC Commercial and will evaluate new and legacy code bases to select architectures that best support the customer experience used by thousands of smart living automation systems. The role involves developing and updating RESTful APIs using modern practices, implementing test automation, API management, and documentation. The engineer will work as part of a global team, collaborating across projects and technologies and influencing teammates without direct authority. The successful candidate will demonstrate intellectual curiosity, accountability, attention to detail, and business acumen.

Responsibilities

Develop backend APIs using AWS cloud technologies.
Occasionally develop frontend web applications as needed.
Contribute as a major member of a productive engineering organization.
Collaborate with team members to iteratively design and discover functional, architectural, and quality requirements.
Write unit and integration tests and collaborate with QA to ensure thorough testing.
Define, socialize, monitor, and enforce operational quality standards such as scalability, performance, monitoring, and error reporting.
Demonstrate commitment, accountability, customer focus, and quality by example.
