Automation Engineer – On-site in Cheyenne, Wyoming, United States.

The Automation Engineer is responsible for the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of the plant’s control systems and automation infrastructure, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), instrumentation, and associated networks. This role works closely with production, maintenance, and engineering to support plant operations and strategic initiatives, with a focus on optimizing production, safety, quality, and energy efficiency.

Responsibilities include supervising instrument technicians, ensuring compliance with MSHA, environmental, and company policies, and overseeing timely troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical instrumentation and process control systems. The position requires strong leadership, clear communication, goal setting, problem solving, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.

Education & Experience: A BS in Electrical Engineering is required, along with at least three years of field experience as an instrument technician with similar equipment. Technical schooling in cement processing is beneficial.
