Senior GCP Platform Engineer

At Avaron AB, we provide permanent employment with variety across customers. You will own the technical roadmap for a modern GCP platform that supports cloud-native services and scalable delivery through an external MSP. This role combines architecture, platform engineering, and governance to shape the platform’s future in a cloud-first environment. You will translate business needs into clear technical direction while ensuring code, infrastructure, and delivery standards are consistently applied across the platform.

Responsibilities

Own the GCP platform roadmap and design future capabilities using cloud-native practices.
Set architectural direction by turning business requirements into detailed solution designs and Jira stories.
Act as the final approver for code merged across the platform; uphold engineering standards for TypeScript and Python microservices.
Leverage AI-assisted workflows to automate PR reviews, manage repository context, and strengthen governance.
Maintain and evolve Terraform modules for GCP projects, networking, and firewall policies.
Oversee GitHub Actions workflows, custom NPM packages, and event-driven orchestration with Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and EventArc.

Requirements

Ability to design and architect GCP platform capabilities using cloud-native best practices.
Strong knowledge of TypeScript and Python microservices.
Experience reviewing and approving code against defined engineering standards.
Experience with Terraform and IaC for GCP projects, networki
