Ayar Labs is pioneering co-packaged optics to accelerate AI data infrastructure. This on-site role in San Jose, CA owns reliability qualification at the system and fleet level: designing and operating test infrastructure that emulates real electrical, thermal, and workload conditions to generate evidence of readiness for large-scale deployment. You will partner with customers and integration partners to carry evidence through joint qualification programs and pilot deployments, translate technical data into commitments, and support stage-gate qualification across lab, environmental, and live pilot environments. Responsibilities include designing fault-injection and lifecycle monitoring, defining statistical reliability targets and sample sizes, ensuring compliance with relevant interconnect and management standards, and delivering fleet reliability reporting and incident response. You will work with Tier-1 partners and hyperscale customer engineering teams across the qualification lifecycle. Basic qualifications include 5+ years in fleet/systems reliability engineering for large-scale infrastructure, a BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, experience building test infrastructure, and strong communication skills. Preferred qualifications include MS degree, FPGA-based test experience, data-center fleet operations, and familiarity with co-packaged optics or silicon photonics. Salary range: $185,000 - $290,000.
