About the role
Microsoft is seeking a Software Engineer for Commercial Engineering & AI (CEAI). In this role, you will partner with stakeholders to accelerate the transformation of Microsoft’s commercial business into an AI-native, scalable operating model. You will build intelligent, scalable cloud-native services and platforms that power partner and customer success, while delivering value at speed and with impact.
Responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate cloud-native services and applications at scale.
- Implement features and platform capabilities that leverage AI, automation, and agentic workflows using frameworks like Azure AI Foundry, Microsoft Copilot Studio, or equivalents.
- Drive end-to-end delivery of projects spanning multiple services and components.
- Build high-quality, maintainable software with emphasis on reliability, security, privacy, and operational excellence.
- Analyze production telemetry and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in live-site support, incident response, root-cause analysis, and service health improvements.
- Contribute to AI-native engineering practices, including AI-assisted development, testing, documentation, and operational workflows.
- Basic: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline with experience coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms; experience building AI-powered applications, copilots, agents, or intelligent automation
