Starpath is building a lunar rover platform and seeks a Senior Flight Software Engineer with deep expertise in embedded Linux to own the Linux platform software for the NVIDIA Orin–based Autonomy Computer. This role requires hands-on work with the Linux kernel, device trees, boot chain, and ARM drivers, as well as BSP development and maintenance. You will own the interface software for CAN, RS-485, USB, CSI, and Ethernet devices, including sensors, cameras, and motor controllers, and you will manage the over-the-air software update system. The position involves collaborating with robotics, autonomy, teleoperation, and network teams, as well as with hardware engineers, to build a robust, fault-tolerant software stack suitable for flight software on the rover. Qualifications include 5+ years of embedded Linux experience at the kernel/driver/BSP level, 5+ years in C, and hands-on work with embedded ARM device trees and pin muxing; a degree in computer science or computer engineering or demonstrated excellence in coding is expected. Preferred qualifications include space-flight software experience, experience with real robots or autonomous vehicles, NVIDIA Jetson, ZFS, radiation-tolerant software, and a track record of delivering reliable software on tight schedules. Location: Hawthorne, California. Salary base rate is $155-200k/year plus equity; PTO and health/dental/vision coverage included.
