About the role

E2 Consulting Engineers, LP is seeking a Utility IT Project Manager to serve as a subject matter expert for a client in the electric utility sector. The role combines operational technology and information technology responsibilities, including automated trouble analysis, real-time grid integration, and system administration. This is a hybrid position requiring on-site work at the client site two days per week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) in Orange County, California, aligned with West Coast business hours.

Key responsibilities: - Design, administer, and monitor grid application software configurations. - Create and execute shell scripts and Python code. - Collaborate with IT teams to maintain, improve, and implement communications, hardware, and software infrastructure. - Support data requests from SQL databases related to electrical utility events. - Write and review documentation describing configuration processes, logic, and test plans. - Assist with system logic, processes, and data related to OMS-related projects and customer communications. - Contribute to database and OS server upgrades, OMS configuration and testing. - Provide high-tier technical support during active outage events, including nights and weekends, with on-call rotation.

Qualifications: - Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. - 3–5 years IT experience, specifically in supporting operational technology (OT) or utility software environments. - Experience performing data analysis and maintaining CGI Outage Management System or similar
