About the role

GridBeyond, a leader in smart grid solutions, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Data and Analytics IT Team. The role focuses on designing and delivering data platform solutions, including a Data Lake and Data Warehouse, using Azure cloud services to support data science, business analytics, energy optimization, and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities: - Lead the design and delivery of data solutions using Azure services to enable business growth and operational excellence. - Build a scalable data platform by integrating data from IoT sensors on GridBeyond's install base, CRM, billing and other IT systems. - Collaborate with Data Science and Business Management teams to develop data models, dashboards, and Power BI reports. - Manage end-to-end development lifecycle from design to production on Azure, with a focus on reliability, performance, and security. - Promote standards and best practices; identify opportunities to enhance solutions and improve processes.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience; Azure and/or AWS (3+ years); Azure Data Certification a plus.
Experience with Data Warehouse design and Kimball methodology.
ETL experience using SSIS and Azure Data Factory; strong SQL Server, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, and data modeling skills.
Proficiency in Python for data engineering; Spark/Databricks a plus. Experience with Power BI and DAX; familiarity with data security options on Azure.
