Speechify is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Core Experiences team. The team builds and maintains foundational services and SDKs that power Speechify’s product experience across platforms. This position sits at the intersection of product and infrastructure and emphasizes designing clear, reliable APIs and simple systems that enhance the user experience. You will collaborate with Product teams to scope projects, negotiate UX trade-offs, and deliver solutions via a cross-platform SDK; optimize existing functionality to achieve faster loading and smarter parsing by creating efficient abstractions and refining algorithms; and ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin. Ideal candidates think in terms of systems design, move quickly to generate options, stay focused in a fast-paced, remote team, and collaborate effectively with designers, marketers, and PMs. Preferred Tech Stack includes Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience acceptable), with a bonus for prior GCP experience.
