Goldman Sachs is seeking a Software Engineer – Vice President to join the Global Markets team in London. This is an on-site role focused on building and operating low-latency electronic market making systems for Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (FICC), requiring close collaboration with traders, engineers and sales to optimize price formation and risk management across global markets.

Responsibilities

Qualifications:

Analyze trading system performance and identify areas for improvement.
Generate ideas for system enhancements that drive commercial performance; implement, test and deploy them.
Improve the safety and reliability of trading systems and ensure robust performance under heavy load.
Collaborate with team members across engineering, trading and sales; balance short-term needs with strategic enhancements.
Manage work to maximize impact and timely delivery.
Strong academic background in Computer Science or a quantitative field (Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, etc.).
Strong software engineering background; proven ability to analyze data and derive actionable commercial conclusions.
Ability to communicate technical topics to non-specialist audiences.
Experience working with sales, trading and technology teams.
Experience building systems with low-latency requirements (microseconds) and deterministic performance; familiarity with Linux, JVM tuning, multi-threaded programming, and low-latency networking.
Knowledge of memory management, just-in-time compilation, and Linux kernel/OS internals.
Securities/trading experience is a plus but
