Software Engineer AWS & TypeScript (m/f/d) is a fixed-term position for 2 years, based in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. You will join the 'FBL Planning & Organization' team in the Business Technology L&D division. In an agile Scrum environment you will be responsible for the conception, development and operation of our applications. You will design and develop new services in a fully TypeScript-based stack (frontend, backend, infrastructure as code). You will work in an event-driven architecture using AWS Lambda, SNS/SQS and other cloud services. You will use PostgreSQL on AWS RDS for complex domain requirements and master relational modeling. You will apply Domain-Driven Design to translate complex legacy processes into modern services. On the frontend you will work with React and on the backend with Node.js, following modern software engineering practices. Qualifications: several years of experience with TypeScript, in the backend (Node.js) and ideally the frontend (React). Ideally you have experience with AWS, particularly Lambda, SQS/SNS, RDS and dynamic serverless architectures. You are familiar with event-driven and distributed systems and asynchronous communication. You know the principles of Domain-Driven Design and have ideally already worked with it. You are familiar with DevOps practices, CI/CD, test automation and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., AWS CDK). Willingness to work onsite in Freiburg 2–3 days per week and very good German language skills (B2-C1).
