Trinity Fire & Security is seeking a Financial Controller to act as the senior finance lead, combining strong financial control with proactive commercial insight and business partnering. This hands-on, full-time role will support operational and strategic decision-making across installation projects, service contracts, and maintenance activities, while ensuring robust reporting, governance, and scalable finance processes. Based in Abingdon (OX14 1RL) with weekly travel to Exeter, the post requires a commercially minded finance professional who can run the control function and influence performance across the wider business.

Responsibilities include: - Commercial Performance & Business Partnering: partner with the Managing Director and operational leaders to improve financial performance, profitability, and cash generation; provide budgeting, forecasting, and KPI analysis; support pricing, tendering, and contract decisions; drive visibility of project margins, job costing, and contract performance; identify margin improvement and working capital opportunities; translate financial information into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders. - Financial Control & Reporting: oversee general ledger, month-end processes, accounts payable, and credit control; ensure accurate accounting for project revenue including WIP and revenue recognition; prepare and sign off monthly management accounts and financial packs (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, KPIs, variance analysis); manage cash flow and supplier payments; lead year-end audit and coordinate with auditors and tax advisors
